Susana was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in August. The surgeon at Iztapalapa General Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,150, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $850 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Iztapalapa General Hospital since August. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Susana struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Susana won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
