Liliana served four years in the infantry and was discharged in 2022 with post-traumatic stress. She has been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place.
The plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote comes to $4,500.
Liliana is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $4,500 goes:
• Training provider fees: $1,500
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,050
• Transport to appointments: $270
• Essential household items: $680
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
