For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,850. It will serve about 269 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,850 goes: • Materials: $1,200 • Permits and inspections: $260 • Safety equipment and signage: $150 • Tools hire and delivery: $240 Thanks for reading all this. - Faith

  • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Faith

    • Materials is $1,200 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.

  • I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Envigado
