Onitsha
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 348 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $440 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 I hope life is good to you.

  • Best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Hialeah.
