A playground for the Sycamore vacant lot: help our neighbors in Kasarani
A community-led a playground at the Sycamore vacant lot that will serve 568 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 568 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Materials: $540
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
