Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Parramatta
The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Parramatta is running low just as demand rises; $1,900 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Friday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 249 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 58% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Parramatta market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,900 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $270
• Baby formula and diapers: $470
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,160

What's already covered and what's the $1,900 for?
Sure. The biggest one is refrigeration and electricity, $270. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out
