For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 148 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $470 • Permits and inspections: $60 • Safety equipment and signage: $85 • Tools hire and delivery: $35 I hope life is good to you. - Lucy
