A community-led a covered market stall space at the Lotus vacant lot that will serve 583 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,150, and the remaining cost is $3,300.
It will serve about 583 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Safety equipment and signage: $190
• Tools hire and delivery: $450
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
