A rainwater harvesting system for the Lotus community hall: help our neighbors in Üsküdar
Volunteers in Üsküdar are raising $800 for a rainwater harvesting system at the Lotus community hall.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $270, and the remaining cost is $800.
It will serve about 563 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $800 goes:
• Materials: $640
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
