A rainwater harvesting system for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Bristol
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $3,300 for materials.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom1,100 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,300.
It will serve about 531 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,300 goes:
• Materials: $2,500
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Safety equipment and signage: $180
• Tools hire and delivery: $370
I hope life is good to you.
