A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Gazipur

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $250 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 562 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $55 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Materials: $160 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Good luck. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 19 people at work. Love from Jessore
