I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the Udaipur Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,550.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $55
• prosthetic leg: $1,450
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
