A playground for the old Sycamore bus depot: help our neighbors in Tlaquepaque
Volunteers in Tlaquepaque are raising $1,150 for a playground at the old Sycamore bus depot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 528 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Materials: $890
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Tools hire and delivery: $135
With deep gratitude,
Víctor

We're at 21% thanks to 7 of you. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($66 in total) I made the first payment toward safety equipment and signage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Turin.
Thinking of you and your family, Víctor. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. Love from Los Angeles.
Thanks for sharing this, Víctor. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
