A playground for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Mumbai
A community-led a playground at Acacia Park that will serve 269 neighbors.
Anywhere in the world1,163 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 269 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $410
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

wishing you the best, Mahesh. More neighborhoods should do this.
Sending good thoughts. Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Sydney but we're thinking of you. All the best.
