A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Fresno
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $2,850 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,050, and the remaining cost is $2,850.
It will serve about 312 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Materials: $1,650
• Permits and inspections: $370
• Safety equipment and signage: $330
• Tools hire and delivery: $500
