A place to stay near Townsville Children's Hospital while Declan receives treatment
Looking for a host or low-cost room within 30 minutes of Townsville Children's Hospital.

My husband Declan has been accepted for treatment at Townsville Children's Hospital in Townsville, starting on Friday in November. We live 275 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself.
We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 6 weeks. Two of us would stay: Declan and me. We can contribute $145 a week and cook for the household if you'd like.
Declan will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you.
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this, Eugene. Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Rooting for you, Eugene. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 29 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Nnewi
