Savannah
My family left the Democratic Republic of Congo 7 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Savannah. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in October. I was a pharmacist in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $4,700 goes: • Winter clothing and school supplies: $430 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $185 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,350 • Rent deposit and first month: $2,735 Thanks for being kind about this. - Sebastián

                • This could happen to any of us. After 13 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything
