After fleeing the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Hosseini family has arrived in Huntsville with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left the Democratic Republic of Congo 6 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Huntsville. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a farmer in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $480
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,050
• Language classes and bus passes: $450
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $220
