My family left Myanmar 11 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Amiens. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was a teacher in Myanmar, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $2,500 goes: • Rent deposit and first month: $1,000 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $580 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $500 • Language classes and bus passes: $210 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $210 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Claire

  • Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless!

    • Praying for you, Claire. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double

      • So sorry you're going through this, Claire. Hope you get there. Take care.
