A craniotomy for Jannat: covering what insurance won't
A scheduled a craniotomy in October is out of reach without help covering $550 of the cost.

Jannat was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $920, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $550 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $920 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jannat struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Jannat won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $550 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $35
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $280
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $235
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
