A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Liverpool

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,800. It will serve about 214 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,800 goes: • Materials: $2,000 • Permits and inspections: $310 • Safety equipment and signage: $110 • Tools hire and delivery: $380 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
