A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Yekaterinburg
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Pioneer community hall that will serve 557 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $430, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 557 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $145
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $105
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
