A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Toronto
Volunteers in Toronto are raising $2,550 for a community garden at Cedar Park.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,550.
It will serve about 353 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Materials: $1,650
• Permits and inspections: $320
• Safety equipment and signage: $410
• Tools hire and delivery: $170

Sending love, Kennedy. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
Wishing you the best. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't give up. All the best.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Dhaka donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Dhaka
