Let's build a free library and reading room together in Wellington
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $3,450 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,450.
It will serve about 489 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,450 goes:

• Permits and inspections: $280
• Safety equipment and signage: $130
• Tools hire and delivery: $240
