Gloria needs a powered wheelchair that the health system will not fund; the cost is $4,950.

I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Southampton Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,950.
My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $360
• Fitting and training sessions: $250
• powered wheelchair: $4,340
