A community fridge for the old Acacia bus depot: help our neighbors in Galway

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,050. It will serve about 457 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,050 goes: • Materials: $1,200 • Permits and inspections: $145 • Safety equipment and signage: $260 • Tools hire and delivery: $445 Thank you so much.
