A community fridge for the Lotus community hall: help our neighbors in Manila

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 194 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $500 • Permits and inspections: $60 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
