A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in London
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $3,100 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,100.
It will serve about 150 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Materials: $2,350
• Permits and inspections: $190
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $270
