I coordinate donations at the Unity Community Church in Dar es Salaam. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Dar es Salaam, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Unity Community Church on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Unity Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thinking of you and your family, Neema. Looking forward to the next update
Rooting for you, Neema. I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Munich.
Wishing you peace. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Thinking of Dar es Salaam.
Rooting for you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
Hope things get better soon, Neema. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
