I coached cricket at Surabaya Sports Club from 1990 to 2012. Most of my players were between 9 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I answered every email, even at midnight.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Yanti
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Yanti: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
