Xia Jia Luo
Master of welding, now teaching apprentices
- 🇺🇸 Brooklyn, New York, United States
- Little Fairview Works
- 1984 to 1997
- English, Mandarin
My trade is welding. I opened my own shop in 1984 in Brooklyn and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Xia
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Xia: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
