Winnie Zawadi Mutebi
Painter, potter and teacher at Old Crescent Art Collective
- 🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
- Since 1995
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in sculpture, sometimes graphic design. My first show was in 1995 at Old Crescent Art Collective, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I take the work seriously, though not myself. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
