Wanjiru Mercy Macharia
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- The Kasarani Shop
- Since 1986
- English, French
I've worked in blacksmithing since 1986. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 1,560 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
