Utami Maya Tan
Tiling for 37 years in Bandung
- 🇮🇩 Bandung, West Java, Indonesia
- Since 1989
- English
I've worked in tiling since 1989. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 1,780 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
What gifts mean to Utami: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
