Upul Suranga Mendis
Retired physics teacher from Oakwood Primary School
- 🇱🇰 Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka
- Oakwood Primary School
- 2012 to 2021
- English
I taught physics and Spanish at Oakwood Primary School, Colombo. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I had 270 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Upul
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the science museum, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Upul: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
