For 29 years I ran the baseball program at Holy Cross Athletic Club in Bogotá. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Tomás
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Tomás: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
