For 14 years I ran the athletics program at Soweto Swimming Club in Soweto. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Thulani
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Thulani: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
