I came to teaching late, after working as a bank clerk, and 34 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I had 1,770 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Thilini
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.
What gifts mean to Thilini: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
