Surafel Kebede
Mentor in farming and entrepreneurship
- 🇪🇹 Jimma, Oromia, Ethiopia
- Phoenix Foundation
- Since 1997
- English, Amharic
For 29 years I've mentored people in farming and entrepreneurship. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Surafel
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
What gifts mean to Surafel: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
