For eight years I ran the martial arts program at Sunrise Swimming Club in Newcastle. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
