Segun Kayode Kalu
Master of carpentry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Enugu, Enugu, Nigeria
- Old Enugu Trades Guild
- 1978 to 2015
- English, Igbo
I've worked in carpentry from 1978 to 2015. I learned from my aunt and passed what I could on to 1,410 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
More about Segun
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Segun: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
