Ruth Auma Otieno

Folk music player and teacher in Kinondoni

  • 🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Kinondoni Hope Ensemble
  • Since 2006
  • English
I've played folk music since 2006, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach. I teach about 16 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I run most mornings.

More about Ruth

I write my first song when I was 13. It was terrible and I still love it.
