Rubén T. Acosta
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇲🇽 Coyoacán, Ciudad de México, Mexico
- Little Coyoacán Trades Guild
- 2006 to 2021
- Spanish
I've worked in thatching from 2006 to 2021. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 320 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 18 years later for another job.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
What gifts mean to Rubén: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
