Rashidi Mugisha Mwesigwa

Jewelry artist in Embakasi

🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya

English

I'm a jewelry artist based in Embakasi. I've been making things from 1980 to 1999 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives. Most of my work is inspired by my grandmother's kitchen. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.

More about Rashidi

I've had 9 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.

What gifts mean to Rashidi: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.

I bought one of your pieces in 2000. It's still the first thing I see in the morning. Greetings from Gdańsk.
