Putri Indah Simanjuntak
Master of bicycle repair, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇩 Malang, East Java, Indonesia
- Highland Shop
- Since 1980
- English
I've worked in bicycle repair since 1980. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 1,700 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I always make time for a proper cup of tea.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

What gifts mean to Putri: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
