Paul Lucky Okonkwo
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria
- Badagry Shop
- 2015 to 2024
- English, Yoruba, Spanish
I've worked in thatching from 2015 to 2024. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 180 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I answer every message, eventually.

If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Paul: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
