I coached swimming at Hialeah Community Club from 2009 to 2019. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Pamela: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
