Onyango Kiptoo Okello

Illustration artist in Kinondoni

🇹🇿 Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Old Kinondoni Studio
Since 2008
English, Swahili

I work mostly in illustration, sometimes textiles. My first show was in 2008 at Old Kinondoni Studio, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog. Most of my work is inspired by folk tales I grew up with. I'm always reading two books at once. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

More about Onyango

I've had 12 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.
