Ochieng Wekesa Kiprop

Youth cycling coach and mentor

  • 1986 to 2003

I coached cycling at Dodoma Redwood Football Club from 1986 to 2003. Most of my players were between 11 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life. Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.

What gifts mean to Ochieng: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
