Mwanaisha Dorcas Mwende
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇰🇪 Kasarani, Nairobi, Kenya
- The Kasarani Workshop
- Since 2017
- English
I've worked in weaving since 2017. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 540 apprentices.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I watch every football match going.
More about Mwanaisha
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Mwanaisha: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
